FORUMS

“The past several years has demonstrated the need for people to understand economics. The newly formed Junior Economic Club has taken the initiative to facilitate economic discussions among some of our future leaders. The organization is approaching the learning of economic concepts in a very innovative and effective manner.”

— William Strauss, Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve

The highlight of the JEC is our quarterly economic forums, and attendance is central to membership. At this exclusive event, our members come together from across San Francisco to listen to keynote speakers in the fields of entrepreneurship, business, and finance. The goal of each forum is to inspire these high school leaders to launch their own world-changing initiatives, open their minds to new economic issues by facilitating discussions, as well as encourage them to forge deeper connections with like-minded peers and illustrious adult attendees. Our first ever forum was hosted in the Spring of 2024.

Our 2nd annual Spring Forum was hosted on April 10th, 2025 in the Three Embarcadero Center Skyscraper. This event will brought together local leaders, experts, and young changemakers to explore pressing economic challenges in the Bay Area, from small business struggles to housing affordability and rising property taxes. The evening had a panel discussion featuring Tom Chavez, JJ Yu, Alice Yeh, and Sunil Chandra. We had a lovely dinner and then attendees presented their Local Economic Impact Study Presentations. The top 3 teams got amazon gift cards!
